Born near Ramallah, Osama Silwadi taught himself photography at the age of 16. He worked for various local newspapers at age 19 while studying media communications, and for France Press Agency for three years. He teaches in various workshops in his home country and is now 25.

In June, Silwadi attended the opening of an exhibit in Rome featuring his recent work on Bedouin life. He is soon to publish a book of images centering on Palestinian women.

Photography is currently not recognized in Palestine as an art form.
